Fantasy scores are up to date and it’s incredibly tight at the top between Ashley and Horlock. That said I can see Ashish, Steve H and latest signing Jarryd who MoM’ed on Sunday all staking a claim for some big points before the end of the season.
With the lack of rain (touch wood) so far I can see a few players getting close to Steve H’s season record of 737. My money’s on “The Ego”.

Cardiff Northern produced a excellent and disciplined display in their 40 over debut match against Barry Wanderers. Having struggled to bat for 18 overs most games this season it was debatable whether we’d be up to giving anyone a game but everyone contributed with the bat making over 200 from 38 overs. The fielding was generally good and some excellent bowling contributions shook the Wanderers batsmen and although they generally stayed ahead of the run rate they were losing too many wickets before eventually falling well short with several overs still left to play.
An excellent day in lovely weather – thanks must go to our hosts Barry Wanderers and Ashley for organising the game. Those who didn’t play missed out. The match report and scorecard will be up soon but the points don’t count to the fantasy scores – I think it safe to say that new boy Jarryd Wilkins probably made man of the match with his excellent knock and his rattling through the tail with his excellent spin bowling.

Ashley has arranged for us to play a friendly against Barry Wanderers next Sunday at 2pm. The game will take place in Sully, be 40 overs a side and food will be laid on afterwards. Contact Ash if you are available and want to play. Ashley has also indicated that it is possibly to bring along partners and kids if you wish. Might make a nice afternoon of it.
