Tonights game has bitten the dust due to sheer volume of rain in the last few days. As I type the sky is blue but the pitches are sodden.

Another one bites the dust

Another game gets called off tonight following the postponement of both games last week.  At least we managed to get a knockabout friendly done last week – I’ll put the scorecard up for that at some point but the gist of it was we started great with the ball, let a partnership develop so they got a defendable score, we batted well enough till the middle order got stuck, a flood of ducks followed and then ended up short after needing 28 from the final two overs.

Checking the latest forecast and once again it’s not looking great for Thursdays game. Pitches are currently very wet and I’m not sure they have much opportunity to dry. However once more we’ll wait and see what the announcement is.

Why does it always rain on us

Extended delay

First game in the second half of the season due to take place against the 25th Scimitar Cavaliers was rained off.  There’s a game tonight against Top Cats which should be a good game if it goes ahead.  The clouds ahead seem unable to make up their mind at the moment.

Match vs Peterston SE, St Fagans, Friendly

Last night saw Northern play a friendly in the picturesque surroundings of St Fagans. It was a good game and both sides enjoyed it.

Official winners were Peterston by one run but this was after Northern let their last man bat out the remaining over and he scored 24 from it! Also in totting up the card later I’m sure Peterston actually had 2 less than they wrote down so we did get a moral victory.
