Following 2 games without victory Northern welcomed back Ben and Steve Hood for the game against old rivals Maccabi. When Perkins took a wicket in the 2nd over Northern sensed an opportunity and some tight bowling all round as well as some good catching meant that Maccabi were restricted to 74-7 with only the opener Gordon getting a significant score of 32.
Northern openers Hood and Vaile eased to a 50 partnership before being told to get a move on by umpire/captain Brain. Steve got cuaght in the deep before Jimmy departed “hurt”. Horlock made 4 in two balls before returning a catch to the bowler and Willacott was also stumped on 4. Andy Gill and Dan Jones made up the final runs ensuring the maximum number of batting points were reached.
